Three people have been arrested in Mubende District following two separate murder incidents. The suspects include David Semuyaba, Jackson Habyara, and Yayeri Nyirabantu, both residents of Kabowa, Kibalinga Sub County.
Semuyaba was arrested for allegedly killing his 37-year-old wife, Teopista Nankima at Kajumba Village, Kagina Sub County in Mubende District. It is alleged that Semuyaba killed his wife and fled their home. Nankima’s body was found in a pool of blood inside the house by neighbors.
According to Rachael Kawala the Wamala Regional Police Spokesperson, Nankima’s body was found with a deep cut on the neck. She said that Semuyaba was arrested and is currently detained at Mubende Central Police Station. She noted that Semuyaba and Nankima were involved in a domestic row which is suspected to be the cause of the murder.
Kawala added that Jackson Habyara, and Yayeri Nyirabantu are in police custody following the death of a 3-year-old girl at Kayebe Village Kibalinga Sub County. Police findings have revealed that the victim was cut around the neck leading to her death.
When the matter was reported, sniffer dogs led police officers to the garden where the body of the deceased was discovered and to the suspects who were arrested and detained. It is alleged that the girl was left in the custody of a neighbor by the mother.
