Lugogo, Kampala-Uganda: Speaking at the 28th Edition of International Trade Fair at Uganda Manufacturers Association Show Grounds at Lugogo, Prudence Ukkonika the Managing Director of K-Roma Ltd, producers of Bella Wine asked government to help entrepreneurs realize value addition as a core.
She asked that government should not let them harness this solely as it is not easy for them, if done, will help farmers get market for their produce, generate tax for Uganda Revenue Authority and benefiting on foreign exchange since quality products attract buyers.
She revealed this referring to Uganda Revenue Authority, Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) and KCCA’s decision to only allow manufacturers with quality products to exhibit at the Trade Fair.
“In as regards production of high quality products, we need support from the government because this is expensive to effect as most of us are recovering from the covid-19 shock”. Prudence remarked.
