Police in Mpugwe Masaka are hunting for a primary six teacher suspected of having sodomized more than 5 pupils of Destiny primary school.
According to police one Hamza Abdallah Ssewankambo is on the run after noticing police would arrest him following several complaints from parents who claimed to have gotten information from their children.
The OC CID of Mpugwe police station said that more than five students confessed before him saying the teacher was forcing them to practice homosexuality.
The school management distanced itself from the teacher’s funny behaviors.
“We employed teacher Hamza like any other teacher, we are so surprised that parents went to the police to file several cases without even approaching us on such a matter, we would be in a position to also help the police to establish more evidence if true he was dragging our students in homosexual acts”- Mr said the head teacher.
Uganda has plans to bill imposing the death penalty for gay sex.
Uganda announced plans last year for a bill that would impose the death penalty on homosexuals, saying the legislation would curb a rise in unnatural sex in the east African nation.
The bill – colloquially known as “Kill the Gays” in Uganda – was nullified five years ago on a technicality and the government said it plans to resurrect it within weeks.
“Homosexuality is not natural to Ugandans, but there has been a massive recruitment by gay people in schools, and especially among the youth, where they are promoting the falsehood that people are born like that,” Ethics and Integrity Minister Simon Lokodo told the Thomson Reuters Foundation.
